Our Vision

Addressing climate change provides Indigenous peoples with a unique opportunity to lead the way in empowering all Canadians to become stewards of the Earth.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from vehicle tailpipes are significantly contributing to rising global temperatures. Green Buffalo is a non-profit initiative dedicated to educating Indigenous communities about the benefits of electric vehicles and clean fuels to reduce GHG emissions.

Climate change has a profound impact on Indigenous peoples in Canada, given their close relationship with the land, waters, animals, plants, and natural resources. Additionally, many Indigenous communities are situated in areas experiencing rapid climate change.

Green Buffalo embodies our commitment to our sacred caregivers by educating Indigenous communities and organizations about the importance of transitioning to cleaner energy sources.

Much like the buffalo, which charges directly into an approaching storm rather than fleeing, we advocate for facing the challenges of climate change head-on and head into the storm.

Indigenous peoples have long been recognized for their profound understanding of the importance of caring for Mother Earth. Therefore, they are uniquely positioned to confront climate change and lead others through the challenges it presents as true caretakers of the Earth.
